Hiroshi Tanaka

Professional profile Hiroshi Tanaka is a senior machine learning engineer at one of Japan's largest consumer electronics conglomerates, where he has spent the past decade pushing the boundaries of on-device artificial intelligence. His primary focus is the development of lightweight neural network architectures capable of running inference on embedded chips in consumer robotics products — a domain where power efficiency and latency are as important as accuracy. Hiroshi holds a PhD in Computational Intelligence from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where his doctoral research on structured neural pruning has been cited over 400 times in academic literature. He currently holds 12 patents related to neural model compression, many of which are now incorporated into products sold in over 30 countries.
